Controls TechnicianThe Controls Technician position is responsible for design, documentation, programming, testing, continuous improvement, and helping other team members improve their skills in electrical controls.The Controls Technician position is located in Olive Branch, MS.You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will…Design PLC Control/ Power Panels utilizing AutoCAD for panel layout and electrical wiring diagrams and make panel component selectionCreate BOM's for the panelsCreate, develop, and document PLC programs for industrial environment using Ladder LogicCreate and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, start-up, and debug systemsProgram Human Machine Interface (HMI) Graphic Screens for industrial projects.Develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completionDevelop Scope of Work (SOW), cost estimates both internally and externallyConsult with In-house production personnel to troubleshoot electrical/programming-related issuesProvide technical support, problem-solving, maintenance, modifications, and continuous Improvement using best practices for automated systemsProvide direct assistance to employees and contractors to train/troubleshoot electrical/programming issues remotely, as well as in the field, at timesExperience with Rockwell Software Studio5000 and Factory Talk View requiredDevelopment of specification for procurement and design of electrical control systems (ECS)Experience with at least 1 other PLC platform preferredExperience with Rockwell Software, Connected Components Workbench or FactoryTalk Platforms preferred.Experience with Wonderware HMI software preferredImplementing PLC programming for optimized production and energy savings through continuous improvement of processes and equipment reliability (including planning path for updates, upgrades)Training other engineers and techniciansDeveloping standard operating proceduresKnowledge of ARC Flash safety requirements and NFPA 7OEOther duties may be assigned.Note: This job description reflects essential functions, it does not prescribe or restrict the number or types of tasks that may be assigned or reassigned during the conduct of businessCheck out some of the required qualifications we are looking for in amazing candidates….High School Diploma or EquivalentAt least 3-5 years' in a Controls Technician positionProven ability to Create, develop, and document PLC programs for industrial environment using Ladder LogicDemonstrated ability to create, read, and understand electrical wiring diagramsExperienced with Rockwell Software Studio5000/ RSlogix500 and 5000 requiredGood time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively in developing high quality systems, budgets, and processesProven electrical troubleshooting skills both remotely and on-siteProven results-oriented and "hands-on" approachDemonstrated strong organization skills, strong customer focus, and orientationProven experience working across trades effectivelyKnowledge of industrial control systems protocol (TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, Devicenet, Control-Net, Profibus, etc.) and controls networking principles and/or trainingStrong technical and analytical proficiency with the ability to multi-task effectively and thrive in a team environmentResults-oriented and 'hands-on approachPossess strong organization skills, strong customer focus, and orientationExcellent communication skills -oral & writtenSolid working knowledge of MS Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookAbility to travel (10-15% per year)Understanding of power distribution requirementsWe prefer some of these qualities as well….Associate's Degree (EE, EET, or Mechatronics) or equivalent from an accredited college, technical schoolDemonstrated experience with design and implementation isolated and/or small-scale systemsRecommend changes to equipment or processesEstablish and recommend changes to equipment or processes which affect other team members or efficiency of equipmentInvolved in developing, modifying, and executing company processes, which affect immediate operation(s) and may also have organization-wide effectReview these physical requirements, as they play a major part in this role….Occasionally exposed to work that requires repetitive motion.
