Product Engineer

Description: This product focused position performs established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product line engineers, customer teams, systems engineers, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
Main focus will include working with established product development business processes and supporting and/or executing technical processes with specialized tools required to enable high-quality decision-making.
Obtains input from stakeholders such as technical managers, project leaders, other product and manufacturing engineers and supplier partners to deliver information and recommendations that lead to high-quality product decisions.
Applies academic knowledge and existing experience to make decisions and take actions that progress projects forward without sacrificing project quality expectations.
Ensures model and drawing quality. Creates and maintains product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing.
Utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security.
Obtains input and negotiates with test plan stakeholders to define technical requirements and delivers an optimized component-based analytical and experimental verification plan to the program or project team.
Makes decisions in the areas of verification and validation that impact product performance, reliability, and durability.
Owns problem resolution for basic to moderately-complex components, products, systems, subsystems or services with accountability to the project team.
Investigates product problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and documents results with guidance from more experienced team members.
Provides independent execution of established work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge; engages with the improvement of systems and processes.
Involves minimal direct management of people, but could involve the coordination and direction of work amongst technicians and/or temporary student employees.
Contributes effectively toward team goals, exhibits influence within a work group and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Prior entry level engineering equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is preferred.

To be successful with this role, please focus on submitting candidates who have CAD experience. It's also important that we thoroughly verify each candidate's experience and speak with them before submitting. There could be some light traveling to other Atmus sites or Vendor sites.
There is potential for this position to turn into a permanent offer at the end of the year, so please keep that in mind when screening candidates.
The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, and the position will be based at the Cookeville location.
When the manager is ready to move forward, he will be requesting 45-minute Zoom interviews with selected candidates.
