Water/Wastewater Engineer & Hydraulic Modeler

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer & Hydraulic Modeler to join our team in Houston or Pearland, Texas . In this role, you will take ownership of impactful water and wastewater planning and modeling projects while building a long-term career path into leadership. You will work alongside experienced leaders, gain exposure to complex infrastructure challenges, and grow within a stable environment designed to support your professional development over time.What You’ll DoManage water and wastewater master planning projects, including schedule, budget, and client coordinationServe as a consistent point of contact for Houston-area clients, building trusted, long-term relationshipsCollaborate with internal teams and senior leaders to deliver high-quality planning solutionsSupport delivery of critical projects through sound engineering judgment and clear communication of progress, risks, and outcomes with clients and internal teamsMentor early-career engineers and help foster a supportive, growth-oriented team environmentExpand your technical and leadership capabilities through increasing responsibility and structured development opportunitiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license or successful completion of PE exam with ability to obtain licensure within 1 year4+ years of engineering experience in water, wastewater, or related infrastructure projectsExperience managing or supporting project , schedule , and budgetStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients and project teamsPreferredExperience in water and wastewater master planning, hydraulic modeling, sanitary sewer evaluation studies, and/or impact fee studiesExperience working with municipal clients in the Houston areaDemonstrated ability to mentor or support junior staffInterest in long-term leadership growth and team developmentFamiliarity with planning and modeling tools, or data analysis for infrastructure systemsAbout Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values ( L earn continuously, E ngage as family, A ct with integrity, D eliver quality, and S erve always).
