Position Overview and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-centered care tailored to the specific needs of the department, adhering to the standards of practice relevant to the state and specialty. Collaborating with medical professionals and other members of the healthcare team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance the patient experience and improve clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to overall departmental success.

• Regularly assesses patient pain to facilitate effective pain management, including follow-up assessments after interventions.
• Executes procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring timely and thorough documentation of care in the patient’s medical record.
• Delivers outstanding care by promptly responding to patient requests and proactively anticipating and addressing their needs.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up actions, simplifying complex medical terminology for better understanding.
• Instructs patients, families, and caregivers on non-medical follow-up actions, such as healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or instructor status must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or instructor status must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
