As a Locum Pathology MD, you will work closely with clinical teams to examine tissue samples, diagnose pathological conditions, and provide essential insights that guide patient treatment decisions. This role offers excellent exposure to diverse pathology cases and the chance to grow professionally while working in a collaborative medical practice setting.

 

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough pathological evaluations of tissue samples, biopsies, and surgical specimens
• Provide accurate diagnoses to support effective patient care decisions
• Collaborate with attending physicians, surgeons, and laboratory staff on complex cases
• Prepare and document clear, detailed pathology reports in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality control, and regulatory standards
• Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions, tumor boards, and clinical consultations as needed
• Maintain accurate medical records and follow established protocols for specimen handling and processing
• Stay current with advances in pathology, diagnostic techniques, and medical practice guidelines
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the pathology department
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic services in an on-site setting

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with a specialization in Pathology
• Associate-level experience in pathology, anatomical pathology, or clinical pathology
• Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex laboratory data
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with physicians, nurses, and laboratory personnel
• Ability to work on-site in Hagerstown and manage multiple cases efficiently
• Familiarity with pathology laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and quality assurance practices
• Commitment to maintaining patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary medical team
• Availability to fulfill a contract assignment with a yearly salary structure in USD
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

Must be board-certified
