Originally known for our assistive listening products, we've expanded our solutions to address audio challenges across a wide range of environments and applications. With AI and Auracast expanding what assistive communication can do, our Engineering team is in a period of intensive new product development, creating exciting opportunities to work on innovative products and technologies.

We're looking for a generalist Software Engineer who enjoys tackling a variety of technical challenges and helping turn ambitious ideas into products used by customers around the world. 

What You'll Do

As a Software Engineer, you'll design, develop, and test features for our assistive communication products while working across the full software development lifecycle, from prototype through release. [Software E...9-21-2026 | Word]

Responsibilities include:

• Develop software for assistive communication products across web, mobile, desktop, and embedded platforms
• Help build cloud-hosted applications supporting AI-powered translation solutions
• Deploy production software using CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools effectively while validating and testing output
• Debug complex software systems involving web interfaces, wireless protocols, and embedded software and hardware
• Build and maintain automated tests and internal development tools
• Estimate task effort and provide regular updates during standups and sprint reviews

What Your First Year Could Look Like

During your first few months, you'll work closely with a dedicated mentor, become familiar with one of our products, and ship your first feature while learning how we design, review, test, and release software.

As you grow in the role, you'll take ownership of a component from design discussion through code review and release. You'll also spend time with Product Management and Technical Services to better understand how customers use our products. 

Within your first year, you'll have opportunities to expand into additional technologies and platforms, whether that's web, embedded, cloud, or wherever your interests align with our product roadmap. Throughout the process, you'll receive regular coaching, collaborative code reviews, and support for continued learning and development. 

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience developing software products through internships, academic work, personal projects, or professional experience
• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and basic networking
• Genuine enjoyment of software development and learning new tools and technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building web applications using Vue or React
• Familiarity with Electron or Flutter for desktop and mobile development
• Experience developing or integrating REST APIs
• Exposure to C/C++ or programming close to hardware
• Interest in embedded, real-time, or audio software
• Experience with Git version control and Agile or sprint-based development methodologies
