Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for adult patients in the acute care setting and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement evidence-based therapy addressing communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing/oropharyngeal dysphagia needs; adjust plans based on patient progress.
- Perform bedside swallow assessments and participate in MBS/FEES evaluation when available; collaborate with the medical team on nutrition and airway management plans.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to physicians, nurses, therapists, and families; support discharge planning and patient education.
- Document assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge recommendations in the medical record; ensure compliance with clinical standards and facility policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to care coordination across medical and surgical service lines, including ICU-adjacent care as needed.

Requirements
- Georgia state license to practice as Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and CCC-SLP certification.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- 15-18 months of recent acute care SLP experience (within the specialty).
- Experience with adult acute care patients across a range of medical and surgical diagnoses; capability to support ICU, stroke/neurology, dysphagia, and cognitive needs.
- MBS/FEES proficiency is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work the assigned 8-hour day shifts, 5 days per week in a hospital setting.
