Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, requiring three or four shifts per week, including every other weekend. Job Description As a Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients experiencing cardiac-related issues. This position involves monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and cardiac rhythms. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and care procedures. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans. Perform procedures including but not limited to cardioversion, thoracentesis, and central line insertions. Float to other units as needed within the scope of practice. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a telemetry or medical-surgical specialty. BLS/BCLS certification required; ACLS certification is preferred. WV or Compact RN License required; pending licenses may be accepted. Experience with post-cardiac catheterization care is required.
