VP, Business Consultant

Job Overview America Group and LPL Financial are looking for a qualified Business Consultant who will partner with financial advisors to improve their practices and increase profitability. The role requires occasional office presence in Troy & Southfield, MI. Candidates must have a deep understanding of market forces, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to delivering world‑class service. Responsibilities Organize and execute client projects such as recruiting, business structure, product selection, payroll, and promotional campaigns. Meet with assigned clients to conduct initial assessment of problem areas. Collect client business information through shadowing, interviews, and surveys. Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities. Develop and present recommendations and solutions to clients. Partner with clients to implement plans and resolve issues. Work directly with financial advisors in a consulting and coaching capacity. Serve as the central point of contact for advisor questions and issues. Assist advisors in navigating available products and services. Keep advisors informed of LPL, America Group, and regulatory changes. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Analyze current business practices and recommend models, tools, products, and services. Create and implement firm‑wide productivity initiatives. Facilitate completion and implementation of advisor business plans. Implement client segmentation, value proposition, and service models. Provide succession planning advice and guidance. Discuss team structures and define roles. Deliver business valuations. Share best practices among advisors. Organize and facilitate periodic advisor study groups, focus groups, and regional meetings. Incorporate sponsors and industry experts into meetings. Enhance advisor capabilities and promote best practices. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, Administration, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry and consulting. Familiarity with business management software such as Salesforce, Redtail, E‑Money. Series 7, 63, 65, and/or 66 licenses. Willingness to travel locally with occasional national travel. Preferences Experience working with independent financial advisors. Strong knowledge of investments, financial operations, insurance, and business practices, with understanding of the broker/dealer landscape. Pay Range $124,115.00 – $206,824.00 Principals only.
