About This Role: The ITS I is responsible for providing technical expertise and project/contract management for the assessment and evaluation of all the operation support and project related issues impacting the program areas in the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and other departments as they relate to California Medicaid Management Information System (CA-MMIS). The ITS I acts as a lead project manager, leading projects of the most technical and complex nature, performing technical analysis on projects, programs, and systems that impact CA-MMIS. The incumbent will be responsible for managing projects utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies as needed. The incumbent will be responsible for developing work plans and evaluating proposed functional and technical design modifications to existing systems and processes and the development of new systems and processes for CA-MMIS projects and sub-project scope, work plans, and milestones. Serve as a liaison between non-technical Program staff during system development projects including requirement development, technical data review, and acceptance testing, functioning in a lead capacity, performing multiple tasks, and working within short time-frames. The incumbent works in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a personal computer and telephone is essential. The incumbent must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position at a workstation throughout the day and must occasionally position self to perform a variety of tasks including retrieval of files.
