Job Summary Under the general supervision of the unit’s director or designee, the CNC assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on designated shifts, ensuring the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services. Key Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift. Functions as a resource person for staff and assists in education of nursing staff. Assumes responsibility for overall quality of nursing care when on duty. Makes decisions regarding activities based on administrative, nursing, human resources, and standards of care in collaboration with other management members. Position Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration : Current RN license in Colorado or multistate; BLS, PALS, ACLS certification. Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred; professional organization activity encouraged. Experience : Two (2) years of clinical practice in the unit’s specialty; leadership/management experience preferred. Special Qualifications : Demonstrated clinical and leadership competency; commitment to staffing and productivity standards; dedication to unit goals, patient safety initiatives, and positive patient experience. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Strong organizational skills; safe, appropriate patient care within nursing practice standards; sound judgment and problem‑solving; positive, professional communication with internal and external customers.
