SAP S/4HANA Record-to-Report (R2R) Functional Consultant

Location: Irving, TX (Onsite 3 Days per Week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Position Overview


Our Public Utility Client is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Record-to-Report (R2R) Functional Consultant to support ongoing finance transformation and SAP S/4HANA initiatives. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, finance leadership, and technical teams to optimize, enhance, and support end-to-end financial processes within the SAP S/4HANA environment.


The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Record-to-Report processes, including General Ledger, Financial Close, Fixed Assets, Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Profit Center Accounting, and Financial Reporting. Experience supporting large-scale SAP transformations and utility industry environments is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design, configuration, testing, and support of SAP S/4HANA Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into SAP solutions.
• Support and optimize end-to-end financial processes including:
  • General Ledger Accounting
  • Financial Close and Period-End Processing
  • Fixed Assets Accounting
  • Cost Center Accounting
  • Internal Orders
  • Profit Center Accounting
  • Allocations and Assessments
  • Financial Reporting
• Configure SAP S/4HANA Finance functionality to support business requirements and compliance standards.
• Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and finance transformation initiatives.
• Support integrations between SAP Finance and other SAP modules including Procurement, Asset Management, Project Systems, and Treasury.
• Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
• Develop functional specifications and support technical teams during development activities.
• Participate in system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployment activities.
• Support issue resolution, root cause analysis, and ongoing system optimization.
• Create and maintain project documentation, process flows, and training materials.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of SAP Finance experience with strong focus on Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
• Hands-on SAP S/4HANA Finance implementation experience.
• Strong functional expertise in:
  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Asset Accounting (AA)
  • Cost Center Accounting (CCA)
  • Internal Orders (IO)
  • Profit Center Accounting (PCA)
  • Financial Closing and Reporting
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional designs.
• Experience supporting full project lifecycle implementations including design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience working directly with finance, accounting, and business leadership teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public utility, energy, or regulated industry experience.
• Experience with:
  • SAP Group Reporting
  • SAP Central Finance
  • SAP Fiori Applications
  • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Reporting
  • SAP BW/4HANA
• Knowledge of Project Systems (PS), Asset Management (EAM), and Procurement integrations.
• SAP S/4HANA Finance certification preferred.
• Experience supporting large enterprise transformation programs.

Required Work Arrangement

• Onsite in Irving, TX three days per week:
  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Thursday
• Remote Wednesday and Friday.
• Must be available to collaborate with business and project teams during core business hours.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Pay rate: $115-$120hr
