Description: Performs precision assembly of aerospace and defense components and assemblies requiring established technical skill and consistent workmanship. Interprets drawings, schematics, specifications, travelers, and work instructions to assemble, align, fit, wire, solder, and adjust components within defined tolerances. Works under moderate supervision and is expected to perform routine precision assembly operations with full proficiency, identify workmanship or documentation concerns, and escalate nonconformances in accordance with established procedures Requirements:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Assemble, align, fit, wire, solder, terminate, and adjust components and subassemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, travelers, and work instructions.
• Perform precision assembly operations using standard hand tools, precision tools, microscopes, fixtures, and measuring equipment as required by the product and process.
• Complete wire preparation, cable termination, hardware installation, and related electromechanical assembly operations within established tolerances.
• Perform in-process self-inspection to verify workmanship, component orientation, dimensions, and conformance to applicable requirements.
• Identify defects, discrepancies, or process concerns and make routine adjustments within established procedures; escalate conditions outside defined requirements.
• Complete production records, travelers, and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain required productivity and quality standards while supporting production schedules and on-time delivery commitments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and other support functions to resolve routine assembly questions and maintain workflow.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically 1–3 years of related experience in the assembly of two or more the following areas: precision, electronic, electromechanical, cable, connector, or aerospace.. 
• Experience reading engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation required.
• Soldering experience and applicable IPC/J-STD certification preferred or required when assigned work requires certification.
• Aerospace and defense manufacturing or AS9100 environment experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS  

• Working proficiency in precision assembly methods and the use of hand tools, microscopes, fixtures, and applicable measuring tools.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, specifications, travelers, and detailed work instructions.
• Ability to perform routine soldering, wiring, termination, fitting, and mechanical assembly operations to defined workmanship standards.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, quality focus, and ability to maintain consistent workmanship.
• Ability to recognize nonconforming conditions and follow established escalation and documentation requirements.
• Must be authorized to access information and hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. Applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations, including U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, Political Asylees, or Refugees.
• Strong English communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend instructions and technical information.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus. 

PHYSICAL   REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to perform repetitive precision assembly work while seated and/or standing for extended periods.
• Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor control for handling small components and using precision hand tools.
• Ability to successfully meet visual acuity requirements, including color differentiation, depth perception, field of vision, and sustained visual focus when working with detailed components and documentation.
• Ability to frequently use microscopes, magnification devices, and precision tools as required by assigned work.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions and maintain sustained attention to detail in a manufacturing environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, fumes from assembly processes, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required.
