B – Boldly Go E – Embrace Equity H – Humble Confidence I – Inclusive Stewardship V – Value Reputation E – Extraordinary Experience Job Description The Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for deepening customer awareness of and participation in the program suite, including identifying and developing relationships with community‑based partner organizations, groups, networks, and directly organizing and attending meetings and events. This role will also prepare and present presentations to inform the community of the various energy waste reduction programs the utility offers. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Embrace and operate within Walker‑Miller’s core values. Collaborate with local partner organizations to share program updates and cross‑promote resources. Research community events throughout the partner service territory, work with event coordinators to secure the events, and manage standard events (logistics, EAFs/Registrations, relationships). Create and staff direct‑to‑customers outreach opportunities, including meetings of varied size and scope, presentations and events. Assist program management and the Marketing/Creative team in developing communication materials for assigned programs (case studies, invitations, program descriptions, presentations). Assist the Marketing team as directed with participation in larger trade show and seminar events. Manage event coordination from initiation to follow‑up, including tracking promotion, RSVP, securing venues, coordinating room preparation, and food service. Track results of outreach efforts in Salesforce and report these to management. Create and modify documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for uploading to SharePoint. Share best practices and continuously help improve opportunities and ways to engage and educate customers. Aid with marketing strategy and targeted regions for appointment level obtainment. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for Outreach Manager/Outreach Team Lead. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year of experience identifying and developing relationships with community organizations (Faith‑Based, Non‑Profits, Schools). Minimum one year of experience with event planning from initiation through post‑event follow‑up, including tracking and reporting outreach efforts. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for uploading to SharePoint. Strong customer service skills and proficiency in public speaking. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work some weekends and handle a wide variety of work in a fast‑paced environment. Must be detail‑oriented, organized, a self‑starter capable of working efficiently with little to no guidance and prioritizing workload. Strong data entry skills when entering information in tracking systems and databases. Reliable transportation. Desired Characteristics Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent study preferred. Experience with booth design and setup. Licenses & Certifications Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Travel Requirements Over 50% local travel required. Physical Demands and Work Environment Required to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Noise level is typically moderate. Pay Transparency Compensation Range: $21.23 – $24.14 per hour. Walker‑Miller Energy Services offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
