Duties

Help

• Plans, circulates and analyzes threat to security programs and serves as an Agency focal point and expert technical advisor on threats to Antiterrorism (AT), Physical Security, Information Security and Operations Security and Insider Threat Program.
• Analyze data from Information Systems to determine threats emanating from both the deliberative and the unintentional compromise of agency infrastructure.
• Provides program oversight and administrative policies, practices, and metrics that reflect the security posture of DFAS.
• Interprets guidance and provides definitive technical advice and assistance to local security specialists and senior authorities regarding the establishment and implementation of comprehensive security programs.
• Compiles insider threat information from all force protection sources; provides technical advice and assistance to local security specialists and senior authorities regarding comprehensive insider threat mitigation program/cell.
• Collects program data and submits required reports; conduct routine reporting on insider threat program status including accomplishments, risks, goals and challenges; and conducts risk assessments to inform and shape the program focus.
• Drive refinement of security risk mitigation posture to safeguard personnel, information, resources, and facilities through the detection of technical risk indicators/alerts and fusion with cross-functional information sources.
• Proficient in fundamentals related to information technology systems, will identify risk indicators, develop inquiry assessments or reports, and safeguard through organized records management.

Qualifications

Human Resources will determine your qualifications for each entry grade level based on your interest and the additional following criteria. GS-12 Level:

• In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-11 for GS-12) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

GS-12 Specialized Experience Is Defined As:

• (1) Demonstrating analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, standards, training and methods related to at least three of the following force protection program types: Antiterrorism, Operations Security, Physical Security, Insider Threat, or Information Security.
• (2) Demonstrates advanced technical proficiency in critical security information systems, database management, and data analytics tools to identify, track, and mitigate complex organizational risks. Highly skilled in utilizing enterprise-level threat detection software and predictive analytics tools to synthesize raw data from disparate force protection sources into actionable intelligence. Proficient in employing advanced data visualization applications (such as Tableau or Power BI)
• (3) And spreadsheet modeling to compile, track, and report on key program metrics, risk assessments, and compliance postures. Proven capability in navigating and managing complex government and agency-specific information infrastructures to safeguard critical assets against both deliberative and unintentional threats.
