Description:
We are looking to add a Physician Assistant to our Cardiothoracic Surgery team.
This position is for an inpatient setting.
The schedule will include 8-hour days from Monday to Friday, with potential call and 24-hour shifts.
The average number of patients per day is approximately 10.
The Emergency Medical Record system used is EPIC.
The Trauma Level at the facility is Level 1.
The provider will be working autonomously and a supervising physician will not be present during assignments.
New graduates will not be considered for this position.
The Physician Assistant will be responsible for conducting pre-operative physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, assisting in surgeries, and writing prescriptions.
Coordination of care and rounding are also essential duties.
Required procedures include placement of central venous and dialysis catheters, placement of arterial lines, and endoscopic retrieval.
Please note that placement of balloon pumps is not required.
