Bench Mechanic

Bench Mechanic Location: Mocksville, NC (Onsite) – 338 Valley Rd., Mocksville, NC 27028 Shift: 1st Shift (Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) – Full‑time role Ingersoll Rand is committed to achieving workforce diversity reflective of our communities. Responsibilities Perform all mechanical assembly operations of sub‑assemblies and package assemblies, including sensitive and highly detailed assembly work. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents. Take responsibility for quality and work content performed in the operation, signing off on the appropriate documentation prior to advancing the process step. Ensure all tools used are calibrated; notify supervisor immediately of any discrepancies. Perform job duties with limited supervision. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and follow all safety rules and procedures. Identify safety concerns and drive successful resolution. Assist in training other department personnel as required. Use problem‑solving skills to identify and respond to problems, including disassembly and rebuild of air ends or sensitive rotating assemblies. Exhibit a high degree of manual dexterity with great attention to detail and workmanship. Use calipers, dial indicators, and precision measuring devices. Participate in departmental projects as needed (e.g., Lean initiatives, cell layout restructuring, continuous improvement). Carry out other assigned duties. Qualifications / Skills Strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents. Proficiency in selecting and using correct tooling, fixturing, and equipment to meet engineering specifications. Ability to function effectively in a flexible team environment. Working Conditions & Physical Factors Required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear continuously for 8–10 hours per day and occasionally on a sixth working day. Pull or push tubs up to a maximum of 35 lbs.
