Sr. Supply Chain Specialist

Indian Ministry of Defence (IMoD) has an enduring requirement for airborne ISR platforms using MQ-9B aircraft, purchased from GA-ASI. The IMoD will rely on General Atomics Global India Pvt Ltd., (GAGIPL) to develop the infrastructure for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) required to operate and sustain the Indian MQ-9B aircraft. To fulfill this requirement GAGIPL is hiring additional Indian-national support personnel. Under general direction, this position is responsible for developing and managing the local supply base and supply chain infrastructure in India for GAGIPL ensuring compliance with both local Indian regulations and GA corporate policies. This individual will report to Director (India Ops) through the Head of Technical Operations. Duties And Responsibilities Supply Chain & Supplier Development Identify, evaluate, and develop potential suppliers and subcontractors in the Indian market ensuring alignment with GAGIPL and GA corporate policies Conduct supplier capability assessments, including quality systems, capacity, financial stability, and compliance with applicable regulations Support source selection decisions by providing supplier assessments, risk analyses, and total cost of ownership evaluations to US-based procurement teams Work with suppliers to improve performance in quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness, including development of corrective and preventive action plans Support localization and indigenization initiatives in line with program and regulatory requirements Support US-based procurement teams with local market intelligence, supplier data, and cost inputs in support of purchase order and subcontract awards Support the administration of subcontracts from a performance and supplier management perspective, including monitoring delivery, quality, and adherence to program requirements Supplier Relations & Evaluation Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers and subcontractors in the Indian market, with a focus on building a robust local supply base Conduct supplier assessments and maintain approved vendor lists, and drive supplier development plans to close capability gaps where needed Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, adherence to delivery timelines and cost objectives Act as a primary local interface to suppliers for operational and performance issues, escalating commercial or contractual matters to US-based procurement teams as needed Negotiation & Problem Resolution Support price and commercial analyses and provide negotiation inputs to US-based procurement teams to help achieve optimal value Participate in discussions with suppliers to clarify technical and commercial requirements, and support negotiation of standard and non-standard subcontract provisions Identify supply chain and supplier performance issues and works collaboratively to develop practical solutions Lead local resolution of supplier performance issues and disputes in coordination with US-based procurement and program management as appropriate. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all supply chain development and supplier management activities comply with Indian legal and regulatory requirements, including GST, customs regulations, and import/export controls Comply with Foreign Exchange Maintenance Act (FEMA) obligations in consultation with GAGIPL consultant company Support the review of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), teaming agreements, and other documents from a business and risk perspective, while formal legal and contractual approval is obtained through GA’s US-based legal and contracts teams Screen suppliers and subcontractors for export control compliance and entity eligibility against denied parties lists (Indian and U.S.)Stay current on regulatory changes affecting supply chain, procurement, and subcontracting activities Stakeholder Communication & Reporting Serve as the primary local supply chain contact for assigned suppliers and subcontracts Advise internal stakeholders on supplier capabilities, supply chain risks, and mitigation strategies Prepare reports and presentations on supply chain development activities, cost savings, localization/indigenization progress, and supplier performance Coordinate with GA’s US-based procurement and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing Stakeholder Communication & Reporting Serve as the primary local supply chain contact for assigned suppliers and subcontracts Advise internal stakeholders on supplier capabilities, supply chain risks, and mitigation strategies Prepare reports and presentations on supply chain development activities, cost savings, localization/indigenization progress, and supplier performance Coordinate with GA’s US-based procurement and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing Process Improvement & Training Contribute to the development and improvement of supply chain and supplier management processes and procedures Participate in cross-functional teams to support business objectives, including cost reduction, lead time improvement, and risk mitigation initiatives General Responsibilities Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices Perform review and evaluation of RFP/RFQs, source selection decisions, price analyses and other subcontract documentation from a supply chain and supplier capability perspective Ensure the company’s proprietary interests are protected and that company policy is followed for processes such as, but not limited to, the review chain for reports, papers and articles Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information Review confidentiality agreements, license agreements and other documentation for conformance to business objectives, company policies, economic conditions, and for compliance to laws, in
