Aventis Solutions is helping build the next generation of intelligent technology. We’re partnering with a high-growth US technology start-up in Miami that is entering an exciting new phase of expansion, with AI becoming increasingly central to its products, technology, data, and long-term strategy.

The company has strong technology foundations, substantial data, ambitious product plans, and a clear appetite to push further into AI, GenAI, intelligent agents, automation, and next-generation software. Now they’re looking for someone to take ownership of that opportunity.

As Head of AI, you’ll define how AI becomes embedded across the organisation, from the underlying data and software architecture through to intelligent products, automated workflows, AI agents, and entirely new capabilities.

You’ll work across software engineering, data, AI, product and technology, connecting the different pieces together and establishing the technical and strategic direction for the company's AI evolution. You’ll have significant autonomy, direct exposure to senior leadership, and the freedom to build the AI capability around what you believe will create the greatest impact.

• Salary Range: $200,000 to $350,000 base, plus performance bonus, comprehensive healthcare, retirement benefits, equity and additional long-term equity incentives.
• Location: Miami, Florida + hybrid flexible working model (remote days)

Key Experience and Skills Desired:

• AI Leadership: Experience leading AI initiatives within a technology environment, with the ability to establish strategy, prioritise opportunities, and turn AI ambition into tangible products and capabilities.
• Software Engineering: Strong software engineering foundations and an understanding of how modern applications are designed, built, integrated and scaled. You don't need to be writing production code every day, but you need enough technical depth to challenge architecture and work credibly with senior engineers.
• AI & Machine Learning: Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, machine learning, LLMs, GenAI and the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.
• AI Agents: Hands on experience or strong understanding of AI agents, tool calling, agentic workflows, orchestration and autonomous systems. You should be excited about where agentic AI can take software and business processes next.
• Data: Deep appreciation of the relationship between AI and data, including data platforms, pipelines, quality, governance, analytics and the infrastructure required to build reliable intelligent systems.
• Generative AI: Experience working with technologies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure AI or similar platforms, with an understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, evaluation and production AI applications.
• AI Product Development: Experience taking AI concepts from experimentation into real products, applications or workflows. You understand the difference between an impressive demo and something that can genuinely operate at scale.
• Technology Strategy: Ability to look across the wider technology estate and determine where AI should sit within the architecture, product roadmap and broader digital strategy.
• Leadership & Influence: Comfortable working with senior executives, engineers, data professionals and product teams, while providing clear technical direction and building an ambitious AI culture.
• Innovation: Naturally curious about emerging technology and willing to experiment. You should be someone who is constantly asking, "What can we build now that wasn't possible 12 months ago?"

Role Overview:

You'll operate across the boundaries of software engineering, data, AI and product, working with senior leadership to establish an AI roadmap while remaining close enough to the technology to understand what is actually possible.
