Assistant Group Leader

Responsibilities Learn and understand external/internal customer requirements. Complete the MyDevelopment courses including Providing Effective Internal Customer Service, Key Principles of ISO 9000, Train the Trainer – Amcor, and Detecting & Dealing with Performance Problems. Set up and maintain 5S projects to enhance morale, development, and external view. Follow full truckload guidelines accurately and timely. Adhere to all ISO/SQF guidelines and policies. Follow unloading guidelines accurately and timely. Follow LTL, UPS, FedEx, and DHL shipment guidelines as instructed. Assist in monthly department meetings. Support all training in the department using ISO training checklist criteria. Understand and enact shutdown procedures during holidays and other closed periods. Be available to work any shift and cover for vacations. Perform any other required tasks as directed. Ensure completion of all yearly HR required courses: Sexual Harassment, Safety Absolutes, Amcor Code of Business Ethics, HACCP/GMP/Allergen Training, Active Shooter 2.0, Culture of Inclusion, Partnering for the Planet 2. Manage employees effectively while maintaining a comfortable and balanced work environment. Ensure all safety procedures are communicated and followed. Report maintenance concerns and inventory discrepancies. Initiate pre-shift meetings and facilitate weekly team meetings. Share daily safety talks with the department. Report and correct unsafe or potential unsafe conditions. Assist with department goals, metrics tracking, and reporting. Track inbound shipments and support C Pro documentation requirements. Track and address discrepancies regarding time-off-task and departmental metrics. Ensure forklift safety compliance and submit EHS documentation. Investigate and report accidents and near misses. Review Kronos timekeeping for all team members. Ensure proper labor alignment to required workload. Document disciplinary actions or coaching. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to work in an inclusive and diverse environment. Amcor forklift certified. Ability to meet all responsibilities to perform the job. Support and exemplify Amcor Code of Respect and Amcor Values. Strong organizational skills (labor placement, storage, layout, office efficiency). Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Proven skill in JDE and DcLink applications. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Ability to delegate and give direction as needed. Safe forklift operation in high traffic, low clearance areas. Physical requirements: hearing sufficient for warned alarms and horns, stereoptic vision 20/40 or better with 70° peripheral vision, read 10‑12 point font at 12‑18 inches distance, lift 45 lbs ten times per hour, lift 45 lbs overhead ten times per hour, work extremes of heat/cold, no sudden consciousness changes.
