Maintenance Mechanic Lead

Position Summary This highly experienced individual, as part of the Maintenance department, will be responsible for assisting the supervisor in all operations of the department. Plans and directs the day-to-day labor responsibilities and prioritizes resources to ensure accuracy and quality. Key Responsibilities Lead a positive working environment and run the department day‑to‑day operations. Accountable for department metrics (SQDCI) and maintain a safety and quality mindset. Communicate with company departments and the supervisor about departmental issues. Delegate operational tasks, review team metrics, and assist in employee coaching and onboarding. Ensure team adherence to all company policies and procedures, manage ordering of department supplies, and maintain inventory awareness. Act as the technical expert, resolve production and mechanical issues, and facilitate training of all team members on job functions. Support new product initiatives, maintain department standards and appearance, and lead meetings effectively. Complete, manage, and schedule the preventative maintenance (PM) program (Limble). Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot CNC, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems, including complex repairs and precision maintenance on conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment. Perform advanced alignment, balancing, vibration-related work, and support FANUC robotics cells. Install, align, dismantle machinery and mechanical components, and troubleshoot equipment such as presses, CNC machines, VFDs, motors, servos, and encoders. Support mechanical requirements for new equipment installations, line moves, process changes, and new product development. Mentor apprentices or maintenance personnel, create and maintain a problem‑solving culture, and assume responsibility for additional projects as assigned by the supervisor. Maintain compliance with safety policies and all applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Required Qualifications 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience. Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures. Successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre‑employment testing. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of previous leadership experience. Journeyman certification or equivalent recognized trade qualification in Industrial Mechanics/Millwright. 10+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience. Working knowledge of Continuous Pouring Equipment for Composite Production Electrical. General applicable company competencies such as commitment to values, punctuality, flexibility, and collaborative relationships. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements On‑site in a manufacturing facility in Germantown, WI. Scheduled work hours will be communicated by the manager. Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 50pounds, pull and push up to 50pounds, and move around the manufacturing floor. Ability to read documents, communicate clearly, and wear personal protective equipment including safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and respirators (pulmonary function and fit tests required).
