Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 15 months of experience in a psychiatric/behavioral health capacity is required. Recent or current inpatient experience is highly preferred. Experience with all age groups, including adolescents, adults, and older adults, is required. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license is required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent is required. De-escalation certification (MOAB, MAB, CPI, SAMA) is highly preferred and can be obtained during onboarding. Must-Have: Work history must include 24 months of current psychiatric/behavioral health experience. Skills checklist must be specific to the psychiatric/behavioral health discipline. Professional reference from a supervisor, nurse manager, or similar within the last 24 months is preferred. Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health to join our team. The role involves providing care for acute psychiatric patients with major mental health illnesses and chronic behaviors that may include violence, aggression, mania, or self-harm. Nurses will be required to float across multiple campuses to similar units as needed. Candidates must possess experience with restraints and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with varying patient acuity levels. Scrub colors required are navy blue, and solid colors are expected. Candidates with effective de-escalation skills will thrive in this role, as they will deal with patients facing significant behavioral challenges. This position demands strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team dedicated to providing exceptional care. All candidates must be located at least 50 miles from the facility. Additional holidays may be required, depending on unit operations.
