The Kitter plays a key role in supporting aerospace manufacturing operations by accurately verifying documentation and performing kitting tasks for production and shipping. This position involves handling materials, moving products safely using push carts or pallet jacks, and using a computer to validate inventory and update work orders in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Verify paperwork, work orders, and shipping instructions to ensure accuracy before processing materials.
- Perform kitting tasks by organizing, assembling, and preparing parts and materials according to work orders.
- Use a computer to validate product information, track inventory, and update work orders and shipping records.
- Pick, pack, and prepare boxes for shipment, ensuring items are correctly labeled and packaged.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently using push carts or pallet jacks to move product within the facility.
- Assist with inventory tasks such as counting, tracking, and recording materials and finished goods.
- Follow established procedures and work instructions to maintain accuracy and consistency in all tasks.
- Communicate clearly with team members and other departments to coordinate material handling and kitting activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
- Perform basic assembly tasks related to kitting and packaging when required.
Essential Skills
- Proficient computer skills, including the ability to use systems for inventory validation and work order updates.
- Ability to read and write in English to understand work orders, shipping instructions, and documentation.
- Prior material handling experience, preferably at least 2 years in a similar environment.
- Experience with packing boxes and preparing materials for shipment.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading materials.
- Ability to safely operate push carts and pallet jacks for moving product.
- Basic inventory handling skills, including counting and tracking materials.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate kitting, documentation, and labeling.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions consistently and accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- Background in assembly work related to kitting and packaging is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced production and material handling setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and material flows.
- Reliability and punctuality to support continuous production and shipping schedules.

Work Environment
The role is based within a large aerospace manufacturing facility that operates in a structured, production-focused environment. You will work around industrial equipment and materials, frequently engaging in shipping, receiving, packing, loading, unloading, and assembly-related tasks. The position may require standing for the entire shift and regularly moving products using push carts or pallet jacks. Work is performed in a warehouse and production area where adherence to safety procedures and proper use of equipment is essential, and attire is typically practical and suitable for a manufacturing and material handling setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.16 - $20.16/hr.
