Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

We are seeking a skilled Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week assignment in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department. This position requires expertise in emergency nursing practices and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Mids, 9am-9pm (floating required)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in the Emergency Department, utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment while planning and delivering patient care.
• Perform thorough assessments and effectively communicate findings to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects, ensuring safety and compliance with established protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation and demonstrate strong organizational skills in managing patient care.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, infection control practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Float to other units, typically ICU, as needed based on department requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications are required.
• NRP and ENPC certifications are preferred.
• Must be able to provide fingerprints as required by New Mexico travel regulations.

Additional Information

• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• No blocked scheduling approved.
• Options for 48-hour guarantees may be accommodated.
• Maximum requested time off (RTO): 1 per schedule, with blackout dates for summer and winter holidays.
• Scrub Color: Any color scrubs are acceptable, but full uniform is required.
• EMR experience with MedHost (EDIS) is preferred.
