Nurse Manager
Location: Avery County or Winston-Salem, NC;
Schedule: The Nurse Manager works primarily weekdays, with a minimum of four days per week on-site. The position also includes approximately eight hours per week of on-call responsibilities, which may involve phone triage and on-site nursing assessments for new admissions.
Hiring Range : $76,000 - $89,000 annually. Occasional travel between Crossnore campuses is required. Candidates must live within a reasonable distance of their assigned campus to fulfill on-site and on-call responsibilities.
Your Impact: At Crossnore Communities for Children, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and cared for. As our Nurse Manager, you'll play an active role in providing direct nursing care to children and adolescents while leading and supporting our Health Services team. This is a hands‑on position where you'll conduct nursing assessments, respond to medical needs, coordinate healthcare services, and provide clinical guidance to residential staff. You'll also supervise and develop Health Services team members, helping ensure consistent, compassionate, trauma‑informed care. Your impact extends beyond the care you personally provide to the Health Services and residential staff you support every day. Comfort using healthcare technology, including electronic health records (EHR), electronic medication administration records (eMAR), and data tracking systems, with the ability to learn new technology and support others in its use. I would also consider adding a statement about staff development and accountability in your Impact section. A successful Nurse Manager will influence the quality of care not only through their own nursing practice, but through the nursing and residential staff they support.
Why Crossnore? At Crossnore, nursing is about more than meeting healthcare needs. It's about building trust, supporting healing, and helping children experience consistency and compassion in their daily lives. If you're a nursing professional who enjoys leading others, improving healthcare practices, and making a meaningful difference for children and families, we'd love to hear from you.
