What you’ll do This is a high-impact, hands-on SRE leadership role for a senior engineer who can own Zenith’s infrastructure systems today and build the operational foundation for a world-class SRE team tomorrow. You will lead all reliability, performance, and operational functions across Zenith’s internal systems, Virtual Blockchain (VB) environments, and validator infrastructure. Own production reliability: Ensure strong operational reliability and resilience practices while partnering with engineering teams responsible for software quality. Manage and evolve cloud environments: Build, automate, and maintain scalable cloud systems supporting multi-layered blockchain execution, off‑chain runtimes, ZK‑prover workflows. Build SRE processes: Define and implement incident response, observability, monitoring, alerting, on‑call rotation, runbooks, and reliability KPIs. Lead operational excellence: Establish systems for versioning, release management, configuration, secrets, environment orchestration, and reproducibility. Enable client VB deployments: Work closely with engineering and product teams to support the deployment, scaling, and reliability of client‑tailored Virtual Blockchains. Collaborate on protocol operations: Partner with core engineering to support validator operations, network participation, upgrades, and secure infrastructure. Drive automation: Identify manual inefficiencies and replace them with robust automation for provisioning, deployment, and system testing. Build & lead the future of SRE: As Zenith scales, grow and mentor a high‑performing SRE team that supports institutional‑grade demands. Act as the operational technical expert: Provide hands‑on leadership across infrastructure decisions, cloud architecture, and reliability challenges. Shape the operational foundation for an infrastructure company operating at the intersection of TradFi, blockchain, EVM, and ZK systems. Build an SRE practice from the ground up, transitioning from hands‑on contributor to a team leader as the organization grows. Thrive in an environment where autonomy, ownership, and precision matter. Minimum qualifications 7+ years in site reliability engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure‑focused software engineering. Proven experience owning reliability, uptime, and operational excellence for distributed systems or mission‑critical infrastructure. Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization, and infrastructure automation. Hands‑on experience building monitoring, observability, performance, alerting, incident response systems, and on‑call processes. Strong knowledge of: Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.) CI/CD systems Secrets management Logging & metrics stacks Ability to design and execute scalable, fault‑tolerant architectures with a strong automation mindset. Comfortable coordinating with engineering teams and working cross‑functionally with product and protocol teams. Based in Europe (preferred), with the ability to operate across global time zones. Bonus points Experience operating infrastructure for blockchain networks, validators, L1/L2 systems, consensus clients, or distributed ledgers. Familiarity with EVM‑based blockchain architectures, proving systems or RISC V‑based zkVM workflows. Experience deploying and maintaining environments that handle high throughput, low latency, or cryptographic workloads. Background supporting enterprise clients, regulated environments, or high‑availability financial systems. Previous experience building or leading an SRE team.
