Senior Accountant (Contract)

Client: Well-Known Organization
Location: Carteret, NJ (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $36–$45/hour (Potential for Permanent Hire)

A well-known organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting team with general ledger activities, financial reporting, and budgeting. Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities.
• Assist with financial statement preparation, consolidations, and reporting.
• Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting.
• Analyze budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual variances.
• Partner with HR, Operations, Estimating, Project Executives, and other departments to support business initiatives.
• Identify process improvements and assist with ad hoc accounting projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet, income statement, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, consolidations, and variance analysis.
• Construction industry experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
