Details General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients Level II Trauma Center and STEMI/Stroke certified facility Patient ratio of 1:4 Night shift schedules available as 3x12 hour or 4x10 hour shifts (19:00-7:00) Alternating 36/48 hour schedule with 84 hours scheduled biweekly EPIC charting system experience preferred Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, and MAB 3 years of ER experience required, or 2 years if gained in a high volume/trauma facility Prior travel nursing experience required Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure Proficient in IV therapy including starting/maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and central line care Experience with emergency medications and IV vasopressors Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and violent behavior Experience with orthopedic trauma and splint application Two supervisor references required within the last 3 years of employment Additional Information Provide emergency care for a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric cases Preferred experience in Level II Trauma Center settings and management of shock/trauma cases such as gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations Preferred skills include ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, intubation, ABG interpretation, and procedural sedation monitoring Preferred neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including for marijuana, and any positive result results in automatic cancellation Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen upon arrival Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted First-time travelers are not accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-772639.
