Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, NICU – Eureka, CA 95501 Start Date: September 21, 2026 Location: Eureka, California Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM). Patient ratio of 2:1 across all shifts. Weekend coverage required per department needs and union contract. Float to postpartum as needed. One pre-approved time off period available. Highlights: Level II NICU caring for neonates 32 weeks gestation and above with a daily census of 4 patients in a 5-bed unit Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response teams Manage specialized equipment including CPAP, high flow oxygen, UAC/UVC lines, and ventilator management Provide breastfeeding support, attend high-risk deliveries, and stabilize infants for transfer to higher levels of care when needed 13-week assignment with competitive compensation and comprehensive travel support Opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with self-scheduling capabilities Requirements: Active California Registered Nurse license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience; at least 1 year required Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required Epic charting system experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Proficiency in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), UAC/UVC line management, and care of neonates 29-34 weeks Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Why Join Us?
