Pay Range: $55 to $60 an hour Client Industry: Pharmaceutical Job Mode: Remote Duration: 12 Month Contract (Possible Extension- based on performance and business needs) Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology, and omics analytics to support innovative research initiatives. This role focuses on leveraging large scale biological datasets to develop predictive frameworks and generate actionable scientific insights. The ideal candidate will apply advanced statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and computational workflows to evaluate biological signatures, drug targets, and therapeutic strategies. The position offers an opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary scientific teams and contribute to impactful translational research programs. Key Responsibilities: Perform perturbation analyses to identify and prioritize promising drug targets and therapeutic combinations. Develop computational frameworks for efficacy prediction and biological signature ranking. Ingest, clean, preprocess, and integrate complex multimodal biological datasets. Analyze RNA sequencing, CRISPR screening, imaging, and other omics datasets. Develop custom analytical workflows, statistical models, and data visualizations using Python and R. Apply machine learning techniques to support predictive modeling initiatives. Utilize HPC and cloud computing resources for large scale data processing and analysis. Collaborate with scientific and technical teams to translate biological questions into computational solutions. Troubleshoot analytical workflows and enhance reproducibility of research outputs. Communicate findings through reports, presentations, and scientific visualizations. Required Qualifications: Master's degree with 5 plus years of experience or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Computational Genetics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. Strong programming expertise in Python and or R. Experience processing and analyzing RNA sequencing, CRISPR screening, imaging data, NGS, or other genomic datasets. Experience with omics data analysis and bioinformatics workflows. Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals including model selection, model training, testing, and cross validation. Experience developing custom scripts and functions for statistical analysis and data visualization. Experience working in HPC environments and or cloud computing environments. Experience cleaning, preprocessing, and integrating large multimodal datasets. Ability to execute computational analysis plans using statistical methods, algorithms, and biological databases. Strong documentation, communication, and problem solving skills. Experience using Artificial Intelligence tools, Large Language Models, or coding assistants to support analysis and workflow development. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in toxicogenomics. Experience with in silico perturbation analysis. Knowledge of drug combination modeling and comparative ranking frameworks. Experience with mechanistic profiling approaches. Exposure to predictive modeling in drug discovery or translational research. Familiarity with large scale biological databases and knowledge graphs. Advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning experience beyond traditional statistical modeling.
