High School Diploma or Equivalent
Two years related experience
Bilingual a plus High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Responsible for facilitating staffing for the Facility Maintenance and Operations Department. Responsible for contacting and assisting prospective employees in the employment process. Oversees personnel records to facilitate the flow of information between the department and Human Resources during hiring process.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates the department's employment related activities with Human Resources; reviews and screens applications for minimum job requirements, schedules regular custodian and custodial supervisor interviews, works with the Assistant Director on campus assignments for new hires, and completes appropriate paperwork for new hires and change of assignments.
2. Provides clerical support to Assistant Director and Executive Director.
3. Creates job requisitions for Facility Maintenance and Support job openings and submits for district approval.
4. Participates and assists in recruitment effort activities such as job fairs or other outreach programs.
5. Provides metrics to department administration regarding turnover, staffing, and recruitment efforts.
6. Attends and participates in Facility Maintenance and Operations staff meetings.
7. Assists potential applicants with initial application and verifies supervisor references before moving through the hiring process.
8. Processes new hires and assists with new hire orientation.
9. Verifies the accuracy and completeness of personnel records on all new hires.
10. Maintains staffing spreadsheet and supervisor contact information in Google Docs.
11. Obtains Purchase Orders and enters supply requisitions into Lawson.
12. Maintains an exemplary level of professionalism and conduct.
13. Occasionally required to drive District/personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.
14. Maintains confidentiality of information.
15. Reports to work on time every day.
16. Performs additional duties and accepts responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Knowledge of general industry safety measures and working knowledge of a personal computer
• Proficient in use of computer applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn how to use additional computer programs.
• Ability to read, interpret and comprehend documents such as safety rules, warning signs, labels, Material Safety Data Sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to work effectively with departmental managers and school administrators
• Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
