Title- Automation Engineer 2

Location- 4 days onsite and 1 day remote. St. Louis, MO



Team Info: Agent OS- Sits on top of billing system. Various agents use OS to execute duties. Open trouble calls. Anything a rep on the phone can do. His team does specific lanes. Billing, troubleshooting trees, repair, Ticketing system for various issues and device management, manual team, and automation team. 4automation onshore and 3 offshore automations as well.
Position is open because of Full Time Team Member leaving to go to Mastercard. They are expecting uptick in workload with ordering changes. The Ordering Flow within Agent OS is flipping and will be more Mobile based. This new way is Mobile is Center and Upfront. Some of the screens are going to be added. This flow will be different with the changes. With this it will require script maintenance and functionality updates. Adding UCM to plate. UCM is ticketing system for major issues. Executive complaint would go through this

Challenges have Faced in Interview Process- Two prominent hiccups he has found. Number 1 is people not having actual Java Programming experience. The other is he can't believe these people aren't automation engineers. Has had 30% people that weren't developing scripts and automating scripts instead they were just pushing a button, and they had existing scripts they were utilizing. Need to be able to Create frameworks from scratch and keep scripts updated.



Technologies- Tool Is Selenium and Java and cucumber. Experience with Cloud is good. CICD, Jenkins , Gitlab


Preferred Skills- Prior Charter & UI Experience. UI- Hasn't had a single candidate with UI. If you are in Agent OS there are multiple fields within each page. Wants someone that has experience finding hidden elements in this page if this is selected. It's not as straight forward as being presented on the page



Experience- Level 2/Level 3 which is looking for 5-7 years. This role is 100% Automation. If you have someone that might not have that much experience, he is just open to a good fit. Don't want to have to spend time teaching them though



Duration of Contract- Long Term Contract, people that do-good work have always stayed on the team and extended out. Lowest man on totem pole scenario for conversion so could happen but would take quite a bit of time.



Start Date- Beginning of October as they must get this person in before Ordering Changes Occur.
