Applicant Pool for Tutors, Accounting and Business

Job Overview Accounting and Business tutors will work one‑on‑one or in small groups with undergraduate students. Responsibilities Support students’ success by creating an optimum learning environment. Lead students to a greater understanding of course materials. Analyze student needs and explain materials in a variety of ways to build confidence and comprehension. Help students understand and apply underlying principles and develop critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills. Prepare for tutoring by becoming familiar with textbooks, software, and teaching tools used in courses. Document tutoring sessions accurately to support reporting requirements. Qualifications Associate degree in accounting or business or a two‑year technical certificate; bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of student‑centered tutoring strategies and the tutoring discipline. Strong interpersonal, computer, and multi‑tasking skills. Ability to collaborate with others and work independently. Teaching or tutoring experience at the college level desirable. Ability to work with students from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Additional Information Union position: Yes.
