Senior Backend Engineer 

Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week)

Duration: 6 months with potential to convert at 3 months

Client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a contract‑to‑hire basis. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, consumer‑facing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services for high‑volume platforms.

• Build and maintain scalable systems using Node.js and PostgreSQL (or equivalent relational databases).

• Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.

• Leverage AI tools in day‑to‑day engineering workflows to improve productivity and innovation.

• Architect distributed systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure as code.

• Work with cloud environments (Google Cloud or AWS) to deploy and manage backend services.

• Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience.

• Strong expertise in Node.js and PostgreSQL .

• Advanced SQL skills with proven ability to handle complex queries.

• Demonstrated fluency with AI tools in engineering workflows.

• Experience building and scaling consumer‑facing platforms.

• Solid understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and scalability principles.

• Hands‑on experience with DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud or AWS).
