Patient Access Rep

Job Type Full-time Schedule: M-F 7:30am -4:30pm General Summary of Duties Greet all visitors to the facility. Scan patient IDs and insurance card(s). Ensure all new patient paperwork is completed, signed and dated. Collect appropriate co‑pay and/or deposits, collect past‑due balances, balance daily entries and run reports, answer telephones, triage calls, schedule appointments. Duties And Responsibilities Handles medical records requests Checks patients in for clinical encounters Scans paperwork, insurance cards and photo ID Collects co‑pay, co‑insurance and/or deductibles and past‑due balances Enters charges Balances daily entries and reports to Office Manager Audits assigned superbills daily for following day appointments (insurance verification, co‑pay or co‑insurance, deductible and/or out‑of‑pocket remaining, current paperwork on file) Interprets appointment requests and schedules appointments based on clinic policies and physician preferences. Identifies scheduling problems and notifies Office Manager, Chief Operating Officer, or appropriate clinical staff Relays relevant information to internal staff when adding or changing an appointment Answers questions regarding patient appointments as requested Safeguards patient information and ensures confidentiality Participates in office meetings and educational activities Maintains work area neat and orderly Other duties as assigned by Office Manager, Chief Operating Officer, or Physicians Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of accredited program in medical administration and/or college, business or technical school preferred Medical Records experience strongly preferred Ability to read, understand and master policies and regulations Ability to use patient management systems and computer software (e.g., patient appointment system, electronic medical record system, e‑mail) Ability to interact and communicate well with patients, staff and vendors #J-18808-Ljbffr
