Member Specialist

Location Sam's Club #6605 1225 N Gilbert Rd Gilbert, AZ 85234-2306 Position Summary Provides member service, maintains checkout area, resolves member issues and concerns, promotes Sam's Club products and services, provides guidance and support to members regarding self‑service technology, processes member purchases and assists with payments, returns, refunds and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types. Follows company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines including conducting safety sweeps, handles merchandise properly and reports unsafe situations to facility management. Maintains entrance and exit areas, verifies membership cards, assists members with purchasing decisions, locates merchandise, promotes products, zones the area, and keeps a safe shopping environment. Assists with training of Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures, teaches new technology and tool functionality, delivers new programs rollout training, and provides continuous learning and process improvement opportunities. Ensures area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies, identifies shrink and damages, and complies with company policies and ethics standards. Completes work assignments prioritizing tasks, collaborating with managers/reco, identifying priorities and deadlines, determining ways to address improvement opportunities, and learning from feedback. Responsibilities Greet customers and verify memberships. Process member purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges. Conduct safety sweeps and report unsafe conditions. Maintain checkout, entrance, and exit areas and ensure proper merchandise handling. Assist members with product information, purchasing decisions and transporting items. Recognize and report potential theft or criminal activity. Maintain paperwork, logs, and required documentation. Respond to emergency situations and execute response procedures. Train new associates and provide ongoing coaching and skill development. Identify and report shrinkage, damages, and maintain compliance with standards. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Retail experience, including operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register). Experience with mobile retail applications. Strong customer service skills and communication. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a membership‑based club or warehouse club. Compensation The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00, and may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
