A growing technology solutions provider specializing in physical security systems is seeking a Physical Security – Sales Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of security camera and access control solutions for commercial clients. This role combines technical engineering expertise with customer-facing sales support, assisting in delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performing security systems.
This is a full-time opportunity offering a base salary of $60,000 annually, along with commission on all physical security sales and additional compensation opportunities. Job Description
The Physical Security – Sales Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining surveillance and access control systems while partnering with clients to deliver effective security solutions. This role requires hands-on technical work, system troubleshooting, and customer interaction to ensure system performance and client satisfaction.

• Design, deploy, and maintain security camera and door access systems for clients
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure uptime and efficiency
• Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise, system recommendations, and solution design
• Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity
• Troubleshoot system issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools
• Provide technical support and guidance to end users, addressing system questions and concerns
• Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and client interactions in a ticketing system
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies and recommend system upgrades or enhancements
• Maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments
• Regular use of ladders and/or lifts required
• Hybrid schedule: in-office, remote, and travel throughout Minnesota
• Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (occasional evenings/weekends as needed)

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Physical Security Engineer or in a similar technical role
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and related technologies
• Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS
• Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with security system vendors such as Hanwha and March Networks
• Experience supporting or contributing to technical sales processes or solution engineering
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ConnectWise
• Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions for security systems
