Custodian

Custodian – Salt Lake City, UTEML is seeking an experienced Custodian to provide cleaning services on a Federal Contract for the Bennett Federal Building in Salt Lake City, UT. This Full-Time position has a 30-Hour work schedule each week.Duties And ResponsibilitiesCleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.Dusts furniture and equipment.Polishes metalwork.Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.Washes windows, door panels, and sills.Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.Transports trash and waste to disposal area.Replenishes bathroom supplies.Operates floor machines such as burnishers and buffers.Other duties as required by the company may be assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and no less than 6 months of prior experience in a commercial cleaning role for a large office complex similar in size and scope.Language SkillsAbility to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
