Diesel Mechanic Technician

Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician Support the truck fleet at Ryder in Roseville, Michigan. Contact: Michelle – View phone number on click.appcast.io Benefits Hourly pay: $33.73 per hour Quarterly bonus: up to $500 Sign‑on bonus: $1,500 Annual merit pay increases On‑the‑job paid training Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) (start 30 days) Paid maternity leave (12 weeks, qualifying employees) Paid time off: 80 hours per year, accrues day one Additional vacation days for U.S. military veterans 401(k) company match Employee discount on high‑valued stock (15 %) PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance provided Top Technician Recognition Program: cash prizes $250–$50,000 for top 12 techs annually Technician tuition repayment program up to $5,000 Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred) Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Minimum two years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years), and Ryder road test Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable Identify root cause of failures and perform necessary repairs Replace defective components as instructed Maintain facility and shop equipment Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint when assigned a task Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation Adhere to all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) Perform additional support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support) Ryder is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug‑Free Workplace.
