Position Details

• Position: Registered Nurse Outpatient/Urology
• Location: Tarzana, CA 91356
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Shift: 8:30 AM 5:00 PM

• Active California RN License
• Current BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of ambulatory/outpatient RN experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with venipuncture/phlebotomy

• Perform nursing assessments and obtain/document patient vital signs.
• Review patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and health questionnaires.
• Provide direct nursing support for adult and geriatric Urology patients.
• Perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
• Collect and process clean-catch urine and other ordered specimens.
• Perform urine dipstick and urinalysis testing.
• Prepare sterile and aseptic procedure trays.
• Assist physicians with outpatient Urology procedures.
• Support urodynamic testing, PTNS, cystoscopies, urethral dilation, pelvic exams, and urinary catheter placement .
• Utilize bladder scanners and other Urology clinic equipment.
• Administer intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications as ordered.
• Perform medication reconciliation and coordinate medication refill requests.
• Review laboratory and imaging results and communicate appropriate information to patients.
• Conduct telephone triage and patient follow-up calls.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Maintain universal precautions, infection prevention practices, and proper biohazard waste disposal.
• Accurately document assessments, procedures, interventions, and patient communications in Epic.
• Collaborate with physicians, phlebotomy staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
