Associate Optometrist Opportunity

Family Vision of Anderson, located in Anderson, South Carolina, is seeking an Associate Optometrist to join the practice in summer 2026. The practice offers a wide range of specialized services, including specialty contact lens fittings, myopia management, dry eye diagnosis and therapy, diabetic care, glaucoma care, and cataract co-management. Focused on maintaining quality and excellence through a period of physician transition, the team is also embracing innovation through cloud-based EHR optimization, exploring AI scribing in the exam room, and adopting emerging technology to support a patient-centric approach. Free from the limitations of corporate optometry, the practice has built a strong reputation in the community for providing high-quality, personalized eye care the right way.

As an Associate Optometrist, you'll provide comprehensive eye exams and medical office visits while exercising professional clinical judgment within the scope of state law. You'll work with advanced diagnostic technology, including the Oculus Keratograph 5M, Zeiss and Optovue OCT, Eidon wide-angle camera with autofluorescence, EyeRes anterior segment camera, TearLab, RetEval ERG, virtual visual fields, and low-level red light therapy. The role offers a full-time, 40-hour schedule with a template of 20 appointments per day, including 13 comprehensive exams and seven office visits.

The ideal candidate holds a Doctor of Optometry degree, is licensed to practice in South Carolina, and can provide three professional references. You bring strong clinical judgment, the ability to listen closely to patients, and the expertise to prescribe spectacles and contact lenses for optimal vision outcomes while ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing for medical optometry. Success in this role also requires a collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, a commitment to continuous learning, and a genuine passion for delivering personalized care and advancing the practice's reputation in the community.
