Mechanic Position at BAE Systems

BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 company, has a need for several mechanics at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. These positions will start on day shift during training and the shift may vary after that. As a mechanic, you will:

• Inspect, dismantle and repair process equipment, machinery, piping and buildings.
• Perform any of the duties of Millwrights B, Pipefitters B, or Carpenters B, according to his skill and training and, in addition, perform a few of the duties of other classifications with some degree of skill.
• Report accurately any mechanical faults discovered.
• Perform work to a high standard in a safe, efficient and economical manner.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• High School or equivalent and 5 years related industrial experience or associate's degree and 3 years related industrial experience.
• Ability to work as a Millwright B, Pipefitter B, Welding, or Carpenter B.
• Ability to perform work to a high standard in a safe, efficient and economical manner.
• Report accurately any mechanical faults discovered.

Pay Information:

This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
