IT Advisor, Technology Consulting - AI & Data (Data Science) Manager Ernst & Young U.S. LLP – Chicago, IL. Overview Work with a wide variety of clients to deliver the latest data science technologies and operations research techniques. Design, build and maintain scalable solutions that unify, enrich, and analyze data from multiple sources. Assist clients in making data‑driven decisions through predictive modeling, data mining, and advanced analytics. Manage global data and analytics teams, oversee model development, and provide technical direction and business development. Responsibilities Deliver solutions that incorporate structured and unstructured data, predictive models, and best practices in data mining. Develop proofs of concept, pilots, and new data platforms/solutions to exceed client business requirements. Manage and mentor teams of data scientists and data engineers, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality outcomes. Maintain and grow long‑term client relationships, identify and cultivate business development opportunities. Communicate findings, recommendations, and opportunities through client presentations and internal stakeholders. Operate in a full‑time schedule (Monday – Friday, 40 hours, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm). Travel 80% of the time, including up to 20% international travel. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, Operations Research, Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field and 5 years of post‑baccalaureate experience; OR Master’s degree and 4 years of experience. At least 4 years of professional services and/or consulting experience. At least 4 years of hands‑on data science experience focused on business outcomes. At least 2 years of experience with big data concepts and data engineering. At least 4 years of experience with two of the following: Core data science tools: R, Python, SQL, SAS. ETL/data engineering skills, including data cleansing with SQL‑based tools. Data sources/structures: APIs, NoSQL, RDBMS, Hadoop, S3, Blob Storage. Big data technologies: Hadoop, AWS, Microsoft. At least 2 years of experience managing teams of Data and Analytics professionals. Employer accepts any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
