Workday Architect - Jersey City, NJ

Job Summary (List Format): Techno-Functional Workday Architect

- Serve as a bridge between HR business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring alignment of business needs with system solutions.
- Own end-to-end solution design and governance across Workday HCM modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Recruiting, Talent, Payroll).
- Lead functional configuration, translating HR business requirements into scalable and compliant Workday solutions.
- Conduct impact assessments for system releases, enhancements, and regulatory changes.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for access control, role rationalization, and audit readiness.
- Design, develop, and support Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Web Services, BIRT, XML/XSLT.
- Oversee the full integration lifecycle: requirements gathering, mapping, building, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Troubleshoot and optimize integrations, ensuring performance and stability.
- Manage integrations with third-party vendors (e.g., payroll providers, benefits vendors, ServiceNow, background checks).
- Implement secure authentication protocols (SFTP, OAuth, certificates, API security).
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional workshops and discovery sessions with stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements documents (BRDs) into user stories and technical design documentation.
- Provide executive-level updates regarding project roadmap, risks, and integration stability.
- Mentor and support junior analysts, integration developers, and functional configurators.
- Drive release management strategy and coordinate regression testing.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, system frameworks, and process guides.
- Operate in compliance-driven environments, ensuring adherence to data governance and security best practices.
- Bring 5+ years of Workday HCM configuration and/or security experience and 5+ years of Workday integration experience (preferred).
- Experience supporting or leading full lifecycle Workday implementations or tenant refreshes.
