Assistant Bakery Manager

Summary Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Assists the bakery manager with overseeing the day‑today operation through ensuring that policies and procedures regarding merchandising, sanitation, and training are followed. Inspects bakery product to ensure that availability and quality are maintained to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Pay Range: $18.50 - $25.50 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Consistently work within company 5S efficiency standards to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times. Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking customers upon fulfilling their requests. Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times. Assist with the bakery operations, including preparation, baking, merchandising and final presentation of all bakery products. Run the department in the absence of the manager. Ensure customer satisfaction through product availability, quality, outstanding service and sanitary conditions. Maintain an adequate presentation with proper variety of products necessary to meet the needs of the customer. Adhere to all corporate and state sanitation regulations. Fulfill all customer special orders. Assist in the training and development of all bakery associates to meet corporate standards of performance. Assist bakery manager in maintaining corporate inventory levels. Learn financial aspects of the bakery department, including paperwork, weekly shrink, transfer sales and budgets. Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow‑through to achieve desired results and objectives. Physical Requirements Exposure to hot environment: constant 5‑8 hours.
