Engineering Project Manager – SecurityWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager – Security to lead and deliver security-focused engineering initiatives across the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with Agile delivery leadership and a solid understanding of application security practices.This role will be responsible for driving cross-functional security programs, coordinating engineering and security teams, managing project plans and risks, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and providing executive-level reporting. The successful candidate will ensure security requirements are embedded into engineering processes while maintaining delivery excellence, scalability, and compliance standards.Exposure to Application Security Testing is required, while experience supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives is considered an added advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end delivery of security engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organizational security objectives and business priorities.Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent initiatives.Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.Partner with Security Engineering, Product Management, Development, QA, and Infrastructure teams to drive secure product delivery.Coordinate application security testing activities, vulnerability remediation efforts, and security compliance initiatives.Establish project governance, reporting structures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and executive dashboards.Monitor project health through analytics, metrics, and reporting to enable data-driven decision-making.Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and dependency management throughout the project lifecycle.Ensure security requirements are integrated into Agile development processes and release planning activities.Communicate project status, risks, milestones, and delivery outcomes to leadership and executive stakeholders.Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across engineering and security teams.Support adoption of emerging technologies, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve program efficiency and security operations.Required QualificationsProject & Program Management10+ years of experience leading large-scale technology programs and engineering projects.Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution and closure.Strong proficiency in project governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and delivery oversight.Agile & Scrum Leadership10+ years of experience working in Agile environments.Strong expertise in Agile methodologies, Agile Project Management, and Scrum frameworks.Proven experience leading Agile teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Hands-on experience with Agile planning and tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms.Security & Application SecurityMinimum 1 year of experience supporting Application Security Testing and secure software delivery practices.Understanding of vulnerability management, secure SDLC, threat mitigation processes, and security compliance requirements.Experience coordinating remediation efforts across development and security teams.Analytics & Reporting5–10 years of experience in project analytics, status reporting, KPI tracking, and executive communications.Ability to develop dashboards and provide actionable insights using project performance metrics.Professional SkillsExceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.Strong assertiveness and decision-making capability.Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills.High degree of ownership, commitment, and accountability.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic engineering environments.Nice-to-Have QualificationsArtificial IntelligenceExposure to AI/ML-based projects, security automation, or AI-enabled engineering solutions.Understanding of AI governance, risk considerations, and AI project lifecycles.Experience leveraging AI tools for analytics, reporting, project planning, or operational efficiency.Preferred CertificationsPMP (Project Management Professional)PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner)Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)Professional Scrum Master (PSM)SAFe Agilist / SAFe Scrum MasterSecurity certifications such as Security+, CSSLP, SSCP, or CISSP (preferred)Success MeasuresSuccessful delivery of security engineering initiatives on time and within budget.Improved security posture through effective project execution and risk management.Increased Agile team predictability, velocity, and delivery efficiency.Timely remediation of security findings and vulnerabilities.High stakeholder satisfaction and executive confidence in program delivery.Continuous improvement of security engineering processes and project governance.
