Registered Nurse (RN) – Infusion Services

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care across the lifespan, adhering to organizational standards, policies, and evidence-based practices. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive, and patient-centered services. This role involves collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes, safety, and a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy.
• Recognize changes in patient conditions and initiate appropriate interventions or escalate care as needed.
• Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
• Deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Advocate for patient care and assist patients in navigating the healthcare system.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska or another U.S. state; applicants must have applied for an Alaska nursing license at the time of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Clinical competency is required within three months and every three years thereafter.
• High-Risk Competency required within three months and every year thereafter.
• All certifications required for the area of practice must be completed within six months of hire for new graduates and experienced nurses entering a new specialty.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, evidence-based practice, medication safety, and infection prevention.
• Strong clinical judgment, organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling.
• Ability to work in a moderate-to-high noise clinical environment.
