Production Associate (Cylinder Loader)

R10089249 Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) (Open) Location: South Plainfield, NJ (Plant) - Filling industrial Shift Time: 2nd Shift (1pm-9:30pm), Monday-Friday Pay Rate: $25/hr Responsibilities Loading and unloading high‑pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Meeting all safety standards in loading and unloading cylinder gases per Airgas procedures. Inspecting cylinders prior to filling following established safety guidelines. Recognizing and navigating hazards of various gases; evaluating size and contents of cylinders using labels and color‑coding. Upholding and championing all government and company standards for safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases. Safely maneuvering a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment. Loading cylinders on/off vehicles using hand truck or chain hoist, and coordinating the tracking of type and quantity of cylinders. Loading/unloading cylinders on/off pallets, ensuring they are strapped in. Examining returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, burns and contributing to equipment upkeep and cylinder inspection prior to filling. Rolling cylinders to designated work area using appropriate, safe work method or equipment. Segregating test cylinders and any defective cylinders. Removing old labels and cleaning cylinders. Performing other duties identified to support the team. Required Qualifications High school degree or GED. Mechanical aptitude. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system. Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent. Adherence to Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to this position’s responsibilities. A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience. In lieu of specific industry experience, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
