Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, BLS and NIHSS certifications, and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care medical-surgical unit in a hospital setting
• 44-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, occasionally 1:6, on both day and night shifts
• CNA support available at approximately 1:8–1:10 ratio; CNAs also serve as sitters
• Telemetry monitoring is available but managed by a separate unit
• EMR system is MEDITECH; experience preferred but not required
• 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required to all acute care, cardiology (medical patients), and the EC for acute care patient holds
• 17-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA state or compact license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or acute care RN experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications, both must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (measured from the address on their driver's license) to be eligible

Additional Information

• Scrub color requirement: Caribbean Blue
• Orientation consists of 1 week of general orientation (including EMR training) followed by 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
• Any time-off requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
