Backend Developer

Job Summary
Seeking a senior-level Backend Java Developer to build custom internal applications that integrate with SAP systems. This onsite contract role is based in Atlanta, GA, with opportunities to contribute to multiple projects. The ideal candidate is a self-driven engineer who can quickly understand application architecture, work independently, and begin producing code within the first few days. Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, event-driven architecture, SAP integrations, and cloud technologies is required.
• Build and develop custom internal applications primarily using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, develop, and work within event-driven architecture frameworks.
• Build standalone applications that integrate with SAP systems without modifying the SAP codebase.
• Apply an understanding of SAP fundamentals and supply chain concepts to support application integration.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and services.
• Understand the existing codebase and architecture quickly and begin contributing code with minimal onboarding.
• Work independently to identify priorities, resolve blockers, and deliver solutions without step-by-step direction.
• Collaborate regularly with peers, architects, and onsite/offshore team members.
• Contribute to multiple projects as the development team expands.
• Use CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub for build, deployment, version control, and collaboration. Required Qualifications
• 5-7+ years of experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and related frameworks.
• Experience building applications that integrate with SAP systems.
• Understanding of supply chain concepts and SAP fundamentals.
• Ability to work autonomously, understand application architecture, and produce code with minimal guidance.
• Experience with cloud platforms; 2+ years of cloud experience is ideal.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and contribute effectively with minimal onboarding.
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); other cloud platform experience may be considered.
• React experience or general frontend development knowledge.
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
• Experience working with mixed onsite/offshore teams.
